Are these bags about the same size? Is quality about the same?

There is a pretty big difference between the two. The Global Skier bag fits just a ski (double boot or single). It is padded to protect the ski, but does not do much else.
The One event bag does quite a bit more. It also fits double or single boot skis, but has storage and a lot of extra space for handle, rope, and other accessories. Also, the Masterline bag is a great travel bag. Overall it is a better bag, with a more serious constuction and sturdier feel.
Hope this helps,
John

If you plan on flying with your ski than the Masterline is the only way to go. It holds a ton more stuff and will handle the rigors of baggage handles better.
The global skier bag is great if you are using it to transport your ski from car to boat or from boat to boat. Overall its more of a light duty travel bag.
